Protective Services Philosophy
A highly PROACTIVE management philosophy
is the trademark of the Protective Services Division of American
Security
Programs. This philosophy is based upon a PREVENTATIVE approach
to problem
solving, i.e. identifying issues BEFORE they become major
problems. This process involves constant interaction between
the American
Security Programs team, the Client management team and our
on-site security personnel.
It is no accident that the Protective Services Division of
American Security Programs is one of the fastest growing
security entities in the Washington, Maryland
and Virginia region. This growth can be attributed to our proactive, hands
on management philosophy together with our emphasis on quality
service. Quality
begins with the recruitment and selection of security personnel and extends
to every aspect of contract administration and operations.
In other words, our corporate
philosophy is "Quality-- from the top down and the bottom up."

Quality starts
with the screening and selection process, continues through
training and ultimately becomes manifest in our on-site security
services. American Security Programs utilizes the toughest
pre-employment screening regimen in the industry (detailed
to the right) and requires random periodic screening of all
employees.
Training: All security force personnel
must pass extensive training conducted through our own state certified training
academy. They then must successfully complete further on-site training
designed specifically for the needs of the individual client before they are "certified" to
stand post.
Management
and Supervision:
Our managers develop procedures and post orders in partnership
with our clients. The officers are then trained and certified
to the specific requirements of the client. Corporate policy
mandates
on-going after-hours inspections by highly trained field supervisors
to ensure that all procedures are being followed. American
Security Programs maintains the highest supervisor to officer
ratio in the
industry.
Pre-Employment
Screening
Before being
hired at American Security Programs, security personnel are
subjected to the most rigid screening standards in the
industry. The screening
process includes:
Background Investigation:
All applicants are subjected to a company background
investigation in addition to the state required criminal investigation.
Psychological Testing:
American Security Programs is one of the few security
companies that conduct psychological testing on all applicants. We utilize
the Security Officer Profile (SOP) which is the only nationally validated
assessment
tool designed to predict security officer performance.
Drug Screening:
All applicants are subjected to drug screening prior
to being hired. Corporate policy dictates that all employees submit to periodic
random screening as a condition of employment. |
